Glossybox Review - March 2014

Glossybox is a monthly subscription that sends out full size and deluxe beauty and makeup items. It's only $21 but they also offer 3-month, 6-month and an annual subscription as well.

First look!

GB always includes some info on the items they send.

Whaaattt?!?!?!?!

Alex and Ani Swan Charm Bangle (Value - $28 - BONUS ITEM!)
I don't think I've ever been as excited as I was when I realized there was an Alex and Ani bracelet in my box. I put it on the moment I took it out and haven't taken it off since. Alex and Ani says to "embrace the devoted energy of this migratory being with the Swan Charm as an encouragement to glide through life with an open heart." This is the perfect thing that can remind me every time I wear it of my grace and beauty and all of the positive things I can look forward to. I know I'll be wearing this almost every day going forward.

Alex and Ani Scent 7 Soap Bar (Value - $14 - FULL SIZE)
This bar soap is infused with essential oils that are supposed to embody the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. It has a definite spice smell to it. I could smell it as soon as I opened the box. My favorite thing is the fact that it only has 6 ingredients and I recognize all of them.

Nails Inc. Polish in Brook Street (Value - $3.75 - Mini size)
Brook Street is a coral polish that is great for summer. First a coral in my Julep box and now one in GB... I'm thinking coral is going to be a color favorite for the summertime. I love Nail's Inc. polish so I'm excited to get this plus the fact that it's a mini bottle adds to its cuteness.

Sisley Paris Black Rose Cream Mask (Value - $26 - Deluxe sample)
This skincare mask is enriched with ingredients such as Black Rose extract, Vitamin E, essential oils of geranium, rose and magnolia and more in order to soothe, hydrate, and stimulate your skin to give you a refreshing and rejuvenated look and feel. I'm excited to try it out.

Etre Belle Liplift Peel (Value - $17.80 - FULL SIZE)
This is a lip moisturizer and exfoliator. You can use it once or twice a week, just make to sure to wipe it off after a minute.

This is a lotion for your hair. You apply it damp, freshly cleaned hair to help moisturize, strengthen and add volume to your locks. It's made with organic ingredients such as bamboo and maca root as well as being free of parabens, phthalates, gluten, synthetic color, mineral oil and petrolatum. I'm quite interested in seeing how this works.

I loved this month's Glossybox! I got an extra bonus item and 2 full size items. The value of the box ended up being $95.05. Considering how much I pay to get it every month, I'm ecstatic for what I got. If you want to sign up for the amazing deals at Glossybox click here

Julep Maven - March 2014

Julep Maven is a monthly subscription box for nail polish and beauty items. Every month on the 20th, Julep does their Maven Reveal, where you have the option to pick your box (which is $19.99 a month, shipping is free for Mavens). Their are always specially priced add-ons you can get or you can upgrade to the entire collection.

This month I elected to get to the Boho Glam box.

First look.

The box always comes with a little notecard.

I love this inspirational quote. I taped it on my wall so I can read it every day.

Elisa is a soft lilac color with a tiny bit of shimmer. It has a creme finish and is a perfect spring color. I'm thinking this will be my Easter color this year.

Harriet is a guava coral creme nail polish. This was the shade that made be decide to get the Boho box. It's a fun spring/summer color that I'm excited to add to my collection.

I loved this lip gloss. It's a sheer watermelon shade which was the perfect shade for my skin tone. The gloss applied really well and was nice and smooth instead of sticky. The Enchanted lip gloss is also infused with a Power Cell Complex - an antioxidant-rich blend of rosehip seed oil, green coffee bean oil and a Malvaceae Lipid Extract.

They also included a candy stick in the box. I appreciated that they put a little ingredient card with it to make sure anyone with allergies wouldn't eat it.

I ended up getting $44 worth of product for only $19.99. Not bad. If you're interested in signing up or want more information, you can click here. Your first box is free with the code "FREEBOX", you just pay for the shipping which is $3.99. Once a Maven the rest of your shipping will be free for any future order.

Glossybox Review - Feburary 2014 & Coupon Code

Glossybox February 2014

I got super excited when I went to get my mail the other day and saw my Glossybox waiting for me on my porch. Especially considering I didn't know it was going to be here (I never got a shipping notification so surprise!).

Glossybox is a monthly subscription that sends out full size and deluxe beauty and makeup items. It's only $21 a month but they also have 3-month, 6-month, or an annual subscription you can try out as well.

This month's theme was the month of love.

The information card.

I love this nail polish! I wish it had come before Valentine's Day but the pale shade will still be perfect for spring. As an added bonus, this polish is also 5-free, cruelty free, and vegan friendly.

I am extremely excited to try these out. I'm definitely a night owl but still have to get up early sometimes so hopefully these will work. They're supposed to moisturize, nourish and hydrate underneath your eyes so you feel rejuvenated. My fingers are crossed.

Pureology Colour Fanatic Hair Treatment Spray (Value - $3.58 - Sample Size)
This is a multi-tasking hair treatment spray that provides 21 different ways to protect, prime, and perfect color-treated hair and it says it has 100% vegan ingredients. My hair's not colored at the moment but I've thinking about dying it for a few months now, so I'll put this to the side until I need it.

Skin&Co Roma Truffle Therapy Serum (Value - $12.75 - Sample Size)
This anti-aging serum is supposed to hydrate your skin with the help of truffle extracts and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It's also free of parabens, sulfates, and mineral oils. Unfortunately for me, I'm quite young and don't really need to use serums so I'll add this to my give away pile.

Sumita Beauty Kala Color Intense Pencil (Value - $15 - FULL SIZE)
I truly love eyeliner. It's one of those things that when I put it on it instantly makes me feel better and prettier and more confident. It's an intense black that makes your eyes pop, goes on smooth and lasts all day. Basically, I love it.

In the end, I ended up with total value of $60.62 for the February box. Not bad considering the subscription is only $21 a month. Luckily for me, I subscribed while they were having a promotion during the summer for 15% off so I only pay $17.85 a month for mine. If you want to sign up or get some more details you can click here

Also, if you decide to sign up for Glossybox use the promo code "GBFRESH" and you'll get a FREE Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream (which I got to try in a previous box and is my go to face moisturizer at the moment.).

Brilliant #JMMystery Box Review - Box #2

So last month JewelMint decided to release a Brilliant #JMMysteryBox to start the new year off with a little sparkle. They promised each box would have a mix of at least 4 different items and a value of at least $120. I had never tried JewelMint before so I though, might as well give it a try. And lucky for me, they had a promo code for Buy 1, Get 1 for first time customers so I got two boxes for $29.99.

In my last post, I reviewed the first box and now here's Mystery Box #2!

First look of my second Mystery Box!

On Safari Necklace (Value - $29.99)  This necklace is from JM's City Safari Collection. It's definitely a bold statement necklace. I love how instead of a metal chain they have woven rope. It definitely adds character to it! It's a little weighty and I'm not sure what I'll wear it with yet but I do like it a lot.

Bare Bones Earrings (Value - $12.99 on sale) These earrings are fun and edgy. Skulls and spikes and if you look really close the inside of the skulls have a little sparkle inside.

It's A Cinch Bracelet (Value - $12.99 on sale) This bracelet is cute but a little tight on my wrist so unfortunately it's to the give away pile for this one.

Red Spiked Bracelet (Value - $12.99 on sale) I love this bracelet. It double wraps around your wrist to add more edge to it although the spikes add some edge as well.

I couldn't find these two bracelets on the site but just like all the other bracelets I'm going to value them both at $12.99. I'm thinking JM was really trying to get rid of all their sale stuff. The white one is nice but not really my taste and the silver bracelet pinches my wrist so both of these are going to be given away.

I don't think I'm going to run out of bracelets any time soon. The top one is cute with the three pyramids but again. It would be fine normally but I don't like tight bracelets.

The one on the bottom is the Orion Bracelet (Value $12.99 on sale) and I love it. You could honestly wear it with anything which is fabulous.

Meet Backstage Necklace (Value - $29.99) This necklace is stunning! It's going to be perfect for St. Patrick's Day and for any time I just want to dress up an outfit really.

Amber Drizzle Earrings (Value - $12.99 on sale) Love, love, love these earrings! According to JM, they were inspired by Marie Antoinette. They are beautiful and make me feel like a princess when I wear them. They're my favorite piece from this box!

In the end, this box ended up being worth $163.90! Definitely made up for the last box not hitting the $120.

Overall views of each box.

I ended up getting 3 necklaces, 3 pairs of earrings, and 10 bracelets with a total value of $269.85. I only paid $29.99. I call this a definite win. I'm so happy I took the plunge and decided to buy. I will definitely be trying more mystery boxes from JewelMint in the future.

Brilliant #JMMysteryBox Review - Box #1

So last month JewelMint decided to release a Brilliant #JMMysteryBox to start the new year off with a little sparkle. They promised each box would have a mix of at least 4 different items and a value of at least $120. I had never tried JewelMint before so I though, might as well give it a try. And lucky for me, they had a promo code for Buy 1, Get 1 for first time customers so I got two boxes for $29.99. (That current promotion is still going on for first time customer as well.)

I was super excited to get my package in the mail and boy did they deliver. My boxes were packed. I was thrilled.

First look when I opened the big box.

The small box on the top and the two pouches on the right are for Mystery Box #1 and the larger box is Mystery Box #2. As to not confuse anyone, I'm going to do the pictures for Box #1 in this post and do another post for Box #2.

This Braided Bangle (Value - $12.99 on sale) is my favorite piece from this box! The bracelet has a magnetic clasp that I find myself playing with a lot opening and closing it. The bronze crystals on it give off such a lovely sparkle when the hit light hits them as well. I put it on as soon I took out it out of the box and have worn it multiple times already. It's a great addition to my ever growing jewelry collection.

Space Triangle Necklace (Value - $19.99 on sale) This necklace is from JewelMint's Space Age Collection is subtle and pretty all at the same time. Another item I absolutely love as well.

Midas Sun Earrings (Value - $29.99) These earrings are stunning! I love how the spikes on the bottom add a little edge to the classic crystals. They'll be great additions especially for spring and summer.

Cream Pave Glam Cuff (Value - $12.99 on sale) This cuff is from JM's Gatsby Party Style Collection. It's cute but a little snug on my wrist. It's more costumey than I like so it will probably get added to my stuff to give away box.

Rush of Love Bracelet (Value - $29.99) I fell in love with this bracelet as soon as I pulled it out of the little cloth bag. It's striking and definitely has a glamorous feel to it. It is a little big on me and the clasp was tricky to figure out but it would go perfect with a little black dress.

Unfortunately I couldn't find this bracelet on the site. On my invoice they said they included a bonus piece for being a first time customer and I'm assuming this is it. It's simple and classic but does not fit my wrist.

The total value for this box ended up being $105.95 (without the bonus piece). I was a little disappointed that it fell short of the $120 value promised but the second box made up for that.
